David F. Schwartz advises on the financing, development, and production of theatre, film, and television projects. Throughout his career, he has represented producers, creatives, and financiers, helping them navigate the legal and business realities of bringing projects to life across all stages of their work.

His theatre work includes Illinoise (pre-Broadway), The Lightning Thief (Broadway and national tour), and national tours of The Great Gatsby, Water for Elephants, A Beautiful Noise, The Wiz, Life of Pi, Funny Girl, Come From Away, Mean Girls, Beetlejuice, The Book of Mormon, Hairspray, The Prom, Once On This Island, A Bronx Tale, The King and I, Falsettos, Finding Neverland, and Once. His narrative and documentary film work includes Cover Up (featuring journalist Seymour Hersh), Barry Levinson’s The Humbling (starring Al Pacino), American Sweatshop (starring Lili Reinhart), and Psycho Therapy (starring Steve Buscemi).

Schwartz is also a Tony Award winner, whose Broadway producing credits include Buena Vista Social Club, Illinoise, The Band’s Visit, Once, and Hands on a Hardbody. He received a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from UC Law SF (formerly UC Hastings), and is licensed to practice law in New York, California, and Washington, D.C..
